I was travelling back to the Philippines on January 11 to pick up my mom and accompany her back to the U.S. As I was waiting on the Baggage Claim area at NAIA to get my luggages, there was one beautiful and cute young lady standing beside me with eyeglasses on. With very simple t-shirt and jeans, I noticed that she picked up this Big luggage (probably weighed 50 lbs or more) off the carousel. As petite as she is, she was able to pick it up. Then another Big luggage came and she picked it up again. I tried to helped her but she was strong to pick it up again and lay it down. "Wow!" I said to her, "You are one strong petite lady, and a pretty one, too!" With a pretty smile she replied "Thank you, po!" I asked if there more luggages coming, she said one more. I offered help and she said "OK lang po!" As simple as she is, I talked to her and exchanged pleasantries. But I noticed that a lot of people around us were tantalizingly looking at her as we talked. She then was joined by a companion friend of her which she gracefully introduced to me. Her friend then went back to the other conveyor to wait for their remaining luggages. I noticed that more people around us continuously look and stare at her. Feeling ignorant, I asked her very casually why are people looking at her and I said "Artista ka ba?" And she said "Opo." "Whoa. Really?" I said. "What's your name?" And she answered "LJ Reyes, po." I asked her if only she and her friend were travelling alone and she said "Opo." I really admire celebrities who are very simple yet beautiful inside and out. Up to the Arriving Passengers Pick Up Area, LJ and her friend were so cordial and we continued to exchange "Thank you's and Good Luck!" My impression about LJ is that she will go a long way and as simple as she is and humble in her own way, may God bless you and give you success in your chosen career!
